“The event was great. It was actually during the day, but it was still so much fun. We had some wine and empanadas which turned out great. Everyone loved them so much! I was very touched by how receptive everyone was and how much they wanted to hear about the organization. It really felt rewarding to be doing something for others and I felt as if I wish that I could do more.

I am very excited for upcoming events and I hope that it is very fruitful for the organization.”, says Sarah.

“We held an asado in Cortina D Ampezzo, Italy last Sunday. It went well, everyone enjoyed our asadito and we received their donations, I hope that with the little bit we have done we have been able to help Creciendo en La Cumbre improve in some way.

Creciendo sent me an e-mail thanking us for choosing them and it made me very happy and proud." told us Claudia.

"Thank you, HelpArgentina for letting us participate in something so beautiful… ah!!…. I also wanted to tell you that Cortina gave us a marvelous day full of sun… which is not so easy to find here as cold as it is.”

Staff and friends enjoying the Night.

The 8th of October the staff of HelpArgentina organized their own HelpArgentina Night. The whole team, volunteers, and all their friends took advantage of this opportunity to spend time together and help support the Argentine social sector.

It was decided between all of us who work at HelpArgentina that this HelpArgentina Night 2007 would be organized in benefit of Biblioteca Popular San Antonio, located in Pirané (in the province of Corrientes). Biblioteca Popular was chosen because of the excellent work they have done in humanitarian development, looking to permanently develop the community through actions that allow the improvement in daily life conditions, culturally, socially, and economically, facilitating the ways to achieve these objectives.

The idea was to have an informal “pancho-pizza party” to be able to all get together in a relaxed, comfortable way. The group was very diverse, full of different ages and nationalities. Everyone came ready to have fun and the event quickly turned into a party, with plenty of food, beer, and good music. Helping fuel the good mood was the fact that everyone helped with their own individual donations. There was an entry fee and raffles with prizes from Help (argentine wine and t-shirts). With the help from all, we were able to raise $1300 pesos, which will all go towards Biblioteca Popular San Antonio.

We would like to thank all of those that made such generous contributions and helped out considerably. Biblioteca Poplular will be making use of these funds to assist the entire community in Pirané. The Night was a great success!

Night in New York, in honor of Social Ambassador Mariana Torres

Susana Plotquin only had praise for the event: “I want to tell you that the dinner yesterday was fabulous. Everything went as planned. Sandra and Eduardo danced tango, the duo Yas Cortes sang folklore, and both groups were amazing! And of course, we ate los gnocchis. The tribute to Mariana was very touching, she was very content, I saw a few tears hear and there, beautiful!”

Maria Elida told us in detail how the night went: “At 3:30, Saturday the 29th, Daniel, Susana, Fabián, Alfredo and I arrived at the Lutheran church on of the Lower East Side. It is a beautiful space located directly on the corner of 9th Street and Avenue C and opens into Tompson Square Park. The room has French doors that lead out into a gorgeous green garden with benches to be outside under the trees.

Fabián and Susana set the tables. Light blue tablecloths with a band of white and a sunflower in the middle. They also set up the projector and sound system, where we showed the video of Redes Solidarias, and of Mariana and the Social Ambassadors Prize.

Dani and I dedicated our time to prepare the sauces and the kitchen for the gnocchi. Alfredo worked on mopping the floor.

The guests began to arrive between 5:30 and 6:00. Within the group was Father Mullins, Elizabeth from Fabián’s church and her son, Silvia, Matías, the gentleman from UDEA, and Mariana (around 20 people). The dancers started the show around 7:00. Sandra and her new partner danced (tango champion of the entire USA). We ate a salad… and in a short the Gnocci arrived. Everyone loved them and Dani received much praise. Before the desert table, we showed the movie of Mariana and Fabián said some warm words. Others also spoke about the good example Mariana is for our community, Susana and I gave her a bouquet of flowers.

The deserts arrived: cake, ice cream with chocolate, and masitas. The folklórico group began to play – with guitar and drum. They donated CDs to sell in the name of Redes Solidarias. They sold a few shirts.

The event ended at 10 because we had to return the space. Fabián and I had to run, but people stayed chatting in the greenery… ah, memories of the neighborhood.”

in New York), has teamed up with HelpArgentina and their
HelpArgentina Nights to plan a charitable party to support

families in Argentina) and Fundación Escolares (contributes
to the development of students from schools in rural
